The principles behind these rules
Criticism, satire and strong opinions are welcome; threats, harassment, hate, privacy violations and impersonation are not.
Publish only material you created or have the necessary rights and permissions to use.
Folinq may limit reach, remove content or restrict accounts when needed to protect people or the integrity of the service.
1. Account creation, invitations and access
You must provide information that is accurate enough to operate and secure your account. Keep your credentials confidential and do not lend, sell or transfer access to an account in a way that misleads other users or defeats security controls.
Some registration flows may use invitation or referrer information. Invitation mechanisms must not be abused for spam, account farming, automated registrations or artificial reward generation.
If local law requires parental or guardian consent for you to use an online service, you may use Folinq only with the required consent. Folinq is not intended as a service for unsupervised young children.
2. Identity, profiles and representation
Pen names, publishing names and professional identities can be legitimate, but impersonating another real person, publisher, organization or public identity in a deceptive way is prohibited. Profile images, names, biographies and credentials must not be used to mislead people about affiliation, authority or endorsement.
Do not publish private contact details, identity documents or other sensitive information about another person without a lawful basis and appropriate permission.
3. Your works, ownership and the license needed to run Folinq
You keep the ownership rights you already have in text, images, audio, video, PDFs and other works you submit. By publishing or uploading content, you confirm that you have the rights and permissions necessary to do so.
To technically provide the service, you grant Folinq a non-exclusive, limited license to host, store, reproduce for delivery, create technical formats or previews, display and distribute the content within Folinq features, feeds, profiles, shelves, backups and links you choose to make available. This operational license exists only to provide, secure and improve the service and does not transfer ownership of your work to Folinq.
Removing content normally ends new public display from your account, but copies may remain temporarily in backups, caches, reports, transaction records or contexts where other users have lawfully interacted with or quoted the content.
4. Content and behavior that are not allowed
The following categories may result in content removal, reduced distribution, warnings, temporary restrictions or account suspension depending on severity and context:
- Credible threats, targeted harassment, stalking, coercion or instructions intended to facilitate violence against a person.
- Hate or dehumanizing attacks against protected groups, or organized harassment campaigns.
- Impersonation, fraud, phishing, scams, malicious links, malware distribution or deceptive account behavior.
- Publishing another person’s private or highly sensitive information without permission or lawful justification.
- Spam, repetitive unsolicited promotion, automated engagement, artificial followers/reactions or manipulation of platform metrics.
- Content that infringes copyright, publisher rights, trademarks, privacy rights or other third-party rights.
- Sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material or any sexual content involving minors.
- Attempts to bypass security, access controls, quotas, moderation systems or payment restrictions.
5. Child safety is a zero-tolerance area
Child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, grooming, sextortion, sexual solicitation of minors, child sex trafficking or attempts to obtain sexual imagery or content from a minor are prohibited. Accounts or content may be removed immediately, preserved as needed for investigation and reported to competent authorities where required by applicable processes.

Disagreement is allowed. Critique a work, argument or public claim without turning the conversation into sustained personal abuse. Do not use direct messages for harassment, repeated unwanted contact, scams, threats or distribution of prohibited files.
Blocking and reporting tools exist to help users control unwanted interactions. Misusing reporting tools to intimidate others or flood moderators with knowingly false reports is also prohibited.
7. Books, publishers, submissions and preorders
Users who list books, upload files or submit works to publishers must have the rights and authority needed for those materials. Metadata such as title, author, translator, publisher, edition, cover, pricing, availability and file format should be accurate and not intentionally misleading.
A publisher profile does not give its operator the right to publish a work without the author’s or rights holder’s permission. Likewise, creators must not claim an affiliation, contract or publisher authorization that does not exist.
For preorder or transaction features, the party offering the item is responsible for accurate fulfillment information, while Folinq may keep records needed to support the transaction and resolve disputes.
8. Payments, internal credits and app-store restrictions
Prices, credits, rewards or promotional balances shown in Folinq are governed by the rules of the feature that issued them. They are not a bank deposit and must not be manipulated through fake accounts, automated activity, collusion or abuse of referral systems.
Payment options may differ between the website and the Google Play version. Features that cannot use an external digital-goods payment method under app-store policy may be unavailable in that distribution.
9. Reports, moderation and enforcement
Folinq may review reports, relevant content, account history and technical evidence needed to understand a safety or integrity issue. Enforcement is contextual and may include no action, a warning, content removal, reduced visibility, temporary feature limits, suspension or account deactivation.
Severe harm, credible safety risks, child exploitation, malware, large-scale fraud or repeated violations may lead to faster or stronger action. We may preserve relevant records when needed for security, legal obligations, appeals or dispute resolution.
10. Copyright, plagiarism and rights complaints
If you believe material on Folinq violates your copyright or other rights, report it with enough information to identify the work, the allegedly infringing material, your relationship to the rights and a way to contact you. Reports may be rejected when they lack enough information to evaluate the claim.
Knowingly false ownership claims or abuse of the reporting process can itself violate these rules.
11. Service changes, availability and responsibility
Folinq may change, improve, pause or retire features for security, technical, product, legal or business reasons. We work to keep the service available, but uninterrupted availability, permanent storage of every file or compatibility with every device cannot be guaranteed.
Users should keep their own copies of important original works and files. Folinq backups are operational safeguards, not a substitute for a creator’s archive.
12. Updates to these terms and how to contact us
These terms may be updated when Folinq features, safety practices or legal requirements change. The current version is the one published on this page. Material updates will be reflected in the review date and may also be communicated in-product when appropriate.
