Folio: Not a Post, but a Unit of Publication
One of the terms you will come across on Folinq.com is Folio.
At first glance, it may seem similar to a post, but the idea behind it is slightly different.
A Folio is not meant to be something published today, seen for a few hours, and buried under hundreds of other pieces of content tomorrow.
A note, a book review, an essay, a literary piece, or any related work can become part of its author’s cultural identity.
That distinction matters.
On many social networks, a profile is essentially a collection of moments.
In a book-centered network, a profile can become a collection of works and contributions.
If someone is a writer, their writing should speak for them.
If they are a critic, their criticism should help define who they are.
If they are a serious reader, their books, notes, shelves, and conversations should create a clearer picture of their interests and perspective.
In a space like this, follower count is not the only thing that defines a person’s identity.
And perhaps that is exactly what the cultural side of the internet has been missing for a long time.
